I used to live at the Broderick across the street from the Whitney. It's funny to note that most Detroiters believe the rents downtown are "outrageously" expensive. I've was in Chicago for two years too and you can't get anything like you can in Detroit. The luxury comes from them having so many renovated buildings so it's all new.
